Concept & Strategy

The initial part of the user research was related to branding and information architecture - domain names, business pitches, and menu offerings.

After establishing these main concepts, I moved onto strategies and figuring out the needs of the main users of the app, which are customers and the client.

Researching the target audience helped me narrow down and prioritize navigation and features for the app.

Theme and Colors

Theme, ideas, and the color palette were movie-focused and after looking at the burrito catering truck, it looks like a foil-wrapped burrito, reminiscent of the movie “Little Miss Sunshine” and I wanted to capture similar color schemes and the uplifting vibes of that movie.

Conclusions

This was a fun project and I got to marry two things I LOVE - food and interface & experience designing!

With a longer deadline, I’d like to do more research on color and UI. I had a mixed review of the color palette and some people love it and some people suggested I change it. I’m open to color changes, but more research is needed on what new palette would look better while continuing the movie theme & feel in the UI while keeping the product resonating with customers and foodies.

The next round would also include development on search features, more research and exploration on the payment navigation layout, and customization of each condiment such as amounts, and or, alternative dietary offerings.
